A good night sleep is what determines how good your day is going to be

A good night sleep is what determines how good your day is going to be. Unfortunately, in today's rushed lifestyle sleep for many people is not so easy to come by. Often, unnecessarily distractions at the night time and overdose of gadgets steal our sleep. Here we present a list of six things that you must ban from your bed to get a good peaceful sleep every night.
Video games
Many people love to play high intensity video games late in the night. That's very bad for your sleep. Video games often take your adrenaline level quite high and also increase stress hormone cortisol, both of which hamper your sleep. What is worse is that playing high intensity video games may also add to your late night snack carvings, which once again not a great thing for your health. So, play no more video games on your bed. If you really had to play it, make sure you do it at least an hour or two before your bedtime.
Your work
Any files or documents, virtual or hard copy, should not be allowed on your bed, come what may. Ideally you should not be bringing work back home, and even if you have to make sure you do it outside your bedroom. In no circumstance you should bring it to your bed. If you bring work to your bed, your mind associates work with bed. This way, even when you try to go to sleep, your mind will think about work and your sleep would eventually get affected.
Your arguments
If you are married, this is quite an important thing to be left out of your bed, no matter how crucial the argument is. If the argument is really so important, make it a point to finish it in your hall or living room, and leave it there. If you bring your argument to the bed, it will hound you all night—and not to mention what a sleep killer that will be. Moreover, it will lead you waking up agitated and even more bugged by the argument. Not only it will spoil your day due to bad sleep, your chances of solving the argument will go bleak too. So for a refreshed day and for the sake of happiness in your relationship, make sure you keep your arguments out of your bed.
Your phone
One thing that should not carry to your bed is your phone. Keep your phone on a table a little far from your bed. This way if there is an urgent call you can get up and answer, at the same time you will avoid overusing your phone. Your phone's blue light affects your sleep negatively. It also increases your craving to eat junk at night. So, if you want a good night sleep and no midnight binging, it is best to ban your phone from your bed.
Your pets
Now I know all of you pet lovers are already ready to bite me, but be a bit patient and just hear me out. According to a research study shared at the 28th annual meeting of the Associated Professional Sleep Societies in 2014. The research indicated that people who shared their bed with their beloved pets, about 30% of them said they wake up in the night at least once due to their pets. Pet owners who shared their bed with pets for more than four nights a week reported to have poor sleep quality. Clearly, your pet in your bed is not doing any good to your sleep. You can keep your play and snuggle time with the pet outside the bedroom, or at least outside the bed for an uninterrupted and peaceful sleep.
Your Food
Food in bed sounds so comforting, but it's no good. Think of those food crumbs and spilled drinks on your bed that sounds gross. It is not good for your sleep routine too. Unhygienic surroundings hamper your sleep. Bed should be your sacred space, where you should feel relaxed and clean.
Make sure you ban these things from your bed if you want a restful and refreshing sleep.
