faced lot of hurdles in releasing is finally released in more than 2000
theaters worldwide and it is a film which was made in a short period of six
months under the direction of K.S.Ravi Kumar. Bollywood beauty Sonakshi Sinha
is debuting in the South Indian movies with the film Lingaa and the audience
can see her in a different role along with actress Anuskha. So let us see the
story of the movie Lingaa.
Editor Review
Story:
The
story of the movie starts from a Village Singanur where Raja Lingeswaram
(Rajinikanth) is worshiped as god by the villagers for his nobility, hardwork,
helping nature. Raja Lingeswaram who is an Engineer from Cambridge University
and also collector of Madurai wants to build a reservoir which will give them
employment to the villagers but unfortunately Raja Lingeswaram was betrayed by
the British Government and forced to leave the village. Now the movie
brings us to present generation where young Lingaa (Rajinikanth) along with his
friends (Santhanam and others) who are in Jail will be brought out by a TV
reporter Lakshmi ( Anuskha) on a condition that he will come to her village and
open temple constructed by his grand father Raja Lingeswara but he refused to
come because Raja Lingeswara has left him in poverty. However he was forced to
come to the village. When Lingaa meets Lakshmi’s grand father ( K.Vishwanath)
he comes to know about many secrets of the village and also about local MP Nagabhushanam
( Jagapathi Babu). Now the real twist of the movie starts will Lingaa
able to do justice to the villagers, will he take revenge on the killers of
Raja Lingeswaram, to know about the secrets you have to watch the movie
compulsory.
Plus
points:
Rajinikanth’s
performance is tremendous and there is no world to praise him and he stole the
entire show with his marvelous performance. His actions, stunts and emotions in
the movie will capture the hearts of the audiences. His dialogues in the movie
is also wonderful and pleace the fans. Sonakshi Sinha who is debuting in the
South Indian movies with Lingaa also impressed as a village girl with her
beautiful looks and silm body. Anuskha as a smart journalist also did complete
justice to the movie with her glamour and hot looks in the movie. Jagapathi
Babu as a village looked good and done tremendous job for the film.
Brahmanandham and Santhanam’s comedy is ok. K.Vishwanath, Dev Gill and others
were also acted well in the movie.
Minus
points:
Though
there are not much minus points in the movie but still in the first half of the
movie there were some un-wanted scenes which were dragged. The action scenes
are also same like in other movies of Rajinikanth. The romance between
Rajinikanth and Anushka is not shown in the right manner and the role of
Jagapathi Babu is little bit confusing in the movie. Comedy is also lacking in
the movie.
Tehnical:
A.R.Rahman’s
background music is good and the songs were also melodius and pleasing.
Cinematography by R.Rathnavelu is excellent and tremendious. His work cannot be
pointed especially the work he has done for Lingaa showing pre-independence
scenes in an excellent manner. Editing by Samjith is ok. Dialogues and action
scenes are same routine. The direction of K.S.Ravi kumar is excellent with
different script and after a long gap he has given a good movie to the
audiences. The production value is excellent.
Overview:
The
director has taken lot of care in making the movie Lingaa with different script
and screenplay, Rajini has shown his entire strengthen for the movie and we
should appreciate the director for making a good movie in a short period of
time. The movie is very pleasing and it is watchable to see once again Rajini
in action. Overall we can say the movie is good.
Punch
Line: Lingaa to be watched again
